To All Owners and Residents:
Given the impact a casino would have on Fairfax County, and more specifically, Tysons Corner, the Board wanted to update you on recent activity associated with Senate Bill 756 (the Tysons Casino Bill).
This past week, multiple amendments were added and removed from Senate Bill 756, and the bill ultimately passed through both the House General Laws Committee and the House Appropriations Committee. As a result, SB 756 is now scheduled for a floor vote by the full House of Delegates early this week. All 100 Delegates will have the opportunity to vote.
If the House passes its amended version, the bill may require Senate concurrence or a conference committee to resolve differences between the House and Senate versions before the legislative session ends. If those differences are resolved and the bill passes both chambers, it will then proceed to the Governor’s desk. It is widely believed that Governor Abigail Spanberger would support legislation that includes a local referendum.
For those who are against a Tysons Casino, this is potentially a last chance to make your opposition to this bill loud and clear before it is approved.
Based on the questionnaire filled out during our 2026 vehicle registration, an overwhelming majority of residents indicated they were against a Tysons Casino. If you are opposed to this legislation moving forward, the Board has been provided a prepared template to communicate directly with members of the House of Delegates. Please feel free to request this template by sending an email directly to the Westwood Village Condominium Board and/or making an inquiry through “Report an Issue” on the Westwood Village Website, selecting “General Inquiry” as the Type of Issue. We will provide the prepared template upon request.
