To All Residents and Owners –
The Westwood Village snow removal plan started out strong, with designated areas at the back of property to push snow, a joint effort with the Townhomes to clear Sheraton Tysons Drive (the road between the back of Tysons West and the Westwood Metro Tower office building), a pretreat of Northern Neck Drive and Leeds Castle Drive, and our snow removal company arriving earlier on Sunday to try to stay ahead of the storm as much as possible.
Despite these efforts, our snow removal company fell short of our expectations, especially Monday. Repeated requests to understand their return to property went largely unanswered all day and/or did not provide sufficient information for us to provide communication to the community.
For Tuesday’s efforts, please be advised of the following:
- Our contracted snow removal company will not return to property until after 12pm (at the earliest).
- Some sidewalks were not fully cleared yesterday, including the paths in front of certain trash corrals in the center of property. Please be very careful or try to wait until this afternoon to throw trash away and recycle.
- We hired a private contractor last night to clear the drive lanes as close to the asphalt as they could. While improved, it is still icy. Please drive cautiously if you try to dig out and leave the property today.
- We will monitor the service received early afternoon and have another company on standby.
- Rod also will be replenishing the buckets at the top of each building’s stairs with additional magnesium chloride.
Capitol Management and the Board has shared with our snow removal company that the response received has not been acceptable. We will be having discussions re: the impending storm later this week and put supplemental resources on standby for immediate assistance.
Regards,
