To All Residents:
The Westwood Village Pool Management Company has shared messaging surrounding pool operations as a result of this week’s EXTREME HEAT forecast. We appreciate your cooperation.
Their message is below:
This week’s forecast requires extra preparation as the National Weather Service has issued heat warnings for our area. Starting Wednesday and continuing through the weekend, temperatures are expected to exceed 100°F and potentially reach 110°F. The NWS advises limiting outdoor exertion due to an elevated risk of heat-related illness. Our priority is to keep your pool open and operating safely. To achieve this, we must protect our lifeguards, who will be working in dangerous conditions. A guard who is overheated or physically depleted is a significant safety risk. Please expect more frequent safety breaks this week. When a guard requires a break, the pool must be cleared. We ask for your support in enforcing this with your residents and request that you share this communication with them before they arrive at the pool.Your presence and engagement on the pool deck this week will make a significant difference. Assisting with pool rules, resident behavior, and safety breaks helps create a more secure environment. Additionally, due to high bather counts, we may temporarily clear the pool if the number of people in the water exceeds what our team can safely manage. If situations like this happen, we will communicate directly with our clients.Although our supervisors and safety auditors will travel with water in their vehicles, they cannot reach every location simultaneously. We would greatly appreciate any support from our clients; a bottle of cold water goes a long way for a guard on duty in hot day.Our goal is to ensure every resident remains safe, and we thank you for your partnership and support.Happy 4th of July! Thanks – Continental Pools
